Dr. Wolfgang Laures

Wolfgang has a successful 30-year long track record in several industries as well as in the consulting firm McKinsey. He holds a PhD in electrical engineering and has been awarded from different institutions e.g. Young Elite member top 40 under 40 Germany from the Magazine ‘Capital’, earned a Leadership award from Avery Dennison where he worked for almost 10 years and was nominated to the top 38 Supply Chain Leaders in 2016 from Supply Chain Movement. In 2017 he was nominated Supply Chain Professional of the Year in Sweden by Accenture and Silf. Wolfgang started his career with Procter & Gamble.

 

Wolfgang has experience as Non-Executive Director in supervisory boards as well as executive director and officer in more than 10 legal entities globally both from Perstorp and Glatfelter. He has influenced BoD’s since more than 15 years both in listed companies like Avery Dennison and Glatfelter as well as Private Equity owned business like Perstorp. His BoD skills include P&L savviness, Cybersecurity, Trade and other Compliance subjects, Strategic Negotiation & Sourcing, Customer contract negotiations, startup company setup and several years of active board memberships.

 

Wolfgang was leading (2014-2019) the global Supply Chain organization of Perstorp. In that function he reported directly to the CEO. His greatest successes recently include the transformation towards an Integrated Business Planning, the implementation of Strategic Sourcing category management and digitalization of the End-To-End Supply Chain. Wolfgang has led the Perstorp Digital Transformation for the entire company. He was member of several Board of Directors both internally as well as external.

 

In September 2019 Wolfgang joined Glatfelter where he leads again the Global Integrated Supply Chain organization which includes all Site Operations, the Supply Network, Strategic Procurement and the entire Integrated Business Planning. He was also named CIO of the company where he leads the usual global application implementation, all Cybersecurity measures including SEC reporting as well as Manufacturing Execution Systems and Digital Transformation. He has built the Supply Chain Center of Excellence in Switzerland and is a key leader in building the functional organization for Glatfelter.

Wolfgang has invested in start-ups and is Managing Director, BoD/NED member as well as owner of various legal entities worldwide.
